The Safe URL Checker submits a URL to the Google Safe Browsing database, which tracks known malware, phishing, and unwanted-software sites, and reports whether the URL has been flagged.

• Reputation monitoring — Site owners can periodically confirm their own domain hasn't been flagged, which can happen after a compromise or spam injection.
• Browser warnings — Google Safe Browsing is the same database Chrome, Firefox, and Safari use to show the red "Deceptive site ahead" warning page.
